Garden Farms Foundation

Garden Farms Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, dedicated to enhancing garden programming in various underserved communities as well as schools from Pre-K through college campuses all across the Las Vegas valley. We work to enrich our community with farm-to-table events, educational curriculum, environmental awareness, art integration, nutrition education, farmers markets, produce donations and more. This, paired with hands-on garden lessons, provides the people of today access to the food security of tomorrow.

Curriculum, Culture, and Cuisine

This program guides K-12 teachers in developing  curriculum to examine how the science, culture, and socioeconomics of food influences educational understandings and practices in the school environment. Of particular focus will be the students' scientific inquiry into their local food science contexts and the implications for academic achievement, physical health and social justice. Topics will include indigenous food sources and issues of access, correlation of STEM content standards to cultural food practices, and personalized health and nutrition advocacy.

Open at this time

Hi there!  I am not currently part of a program but rather a volunteer who wants to learn how to implement the Edible Schoolyard Project within my local area.  I'd like to introduce it to SFSU's(San Francisco State University) TVI (Teacher of Visual Impairment) program as well as in Southern California where my nephew will be teaching (in rather quite a large food desert).  I think the children with visual disabilities would love to be a part of this program! I'm so excited!

Our bakery try the best she can to be sustainable and caring about social issues in our everyday life. Be in Paris is a challenge for food waste and finding the best product around us. But also to make a change in the non-caring mentality of a stressful city.

We teach our customer a different approch of bread and pastry in the capital of food.

We are a non-profit organization to promote the enjoyment of a lifestyle that aims to establish resource recycling in the local community. Our activities include, among others teaching how to recycle our kitchen garbage and other waste generated from our yards that is, how to turn them into compost and communicating the joy of composting. By making use of compost we produced or collected in neiboring areas, we grow vegetables in community gardens.

We focus on following 5 issues for a sustainable lifestyle in community you live.

Farm Shop Educational Centre

Hello! As a farming family we have always had a passion to supply the public with healthy, local fruit and vegetables as well as educate people on healthy eating. Having struggled to encourage local councils we work with to support us in our drive to educate children and their parents we have decided to create a program ourselves. Through our expansion of our business with a Farm Shop and Restaurant we want to create an educational space for children to learn about farming, healthy eating and cooking.

Una escuela de colores México

Una escuela de colores aims to connect with food to children and adults in a positive way. We believe that the game is one of the essential tools for the educational process, that is why we work from a vision where self discovery, free play, philosophy for children, attentive listening are fundamental for the development of our programs. Biodiversity is a fundamental part of our program. Mexico has very serious health problems and also has a great opportunity from our identity and gastronomy that we seek to rescue and show to the new generation.
