About the Program:

Garden Farms Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, dedicated to enhancing garden programming in various underserved communities as well as schools from Pre-K through college campuses all across the Las Vegas valley. We work to enrich our community with farm-to-table events, educational curriculum, environmental awareness, art integration, nutrition education, farmers markets, produce donations and more. This, paired with hands-on garden lessons, provides the people of today access to the food security of tomorrow.

We focus on permaculture practices and sustainability efforts within our desert environment, teaching people of all ages from pre-school to seniors, the skills to understand and then spread ongoing knowledge to establish food security. My current project is creating a STEAM-based curriculum that is suitable for all areas of study so teachers of all types can educate their students using the garden as a tool no matter what their level of growing expertise is. Having a team of farmers from all backgrounds is beneficial to our practices, as we learn, share and grow with eachother and help spread that knowledge to our community members daily.
