Our mission is to educate individuals about the cultural and social significance of taste while envisioning a kinder and more sustainable future that supports the preservation and enhancement of our biodiversity.

The Homeschool Village

Welcome to The Homeschool Village, Florida’s first African-centered microschool. We offer a richly layered, nature-based learning environment where culture, community, and rigorous academics come together to cultivate confident, curious learners. Our mission is to nurture the whole child—mind, body, spirit, and community—through hands-on, nature-based experiences. We equip families with permissionless learning models that honor cultural identity and foster self-determination. We center our educational experiences around agriculture, afroecology and botany.

At Green Garden Child Development Center, our fruit and vegetable gardens in our outdoor classrooms are a central part of our learning experience. Our students are able to get their hands dirty and be an active participant in the natural cycles of the earth. They help plant, water, care for, and harvest the produce that is then integrated into our nutrition program, developing a hands-on understanding of where food their comes from. Through these experiences, students build a holistic appreciation for food, nature, and sustainability.

We inspire people to develop knowledge, skills and confidence for a healthier future through Kitchen and Garden classes.

School Culinary Consulting- We structure and implement programs in schools to transform the schoolyard into a vegetable garden and the kitchen into a classroom. We develop programs with schools to achieve well-being and health goals through culinary workshops. Cooking is used as a tool to teach different skills according to the needs of each school.

Del Huerto al Plato

Del Huerto al Plato is a school program in Frutillar, Chile. Our mission is to provide each student with a food education experience. This will be achieved through the creation of a healthy school environment that promotes the production, preparation, and enjoyment of fresh and delicious foods via gardening and cooking workshops.

Montessori School of Lake Forest

Through growing, processing, cooking, eating, studying, talking and thinking about food, students develop skills, knowledge and behavior that enrich their academic and nonacademic lives, bolster their growth as individuals and in relationships, and cultivate meaningful engagements with their own health, the health of their communities and health of the planet.
