 We are building an edible school yard to involve our students in their own nourishment.

Trinity Homegrown Foods

 Trinity Homegrown Foods is  advocacy  group to promote food and gardening centered in the rural community of Hayfork, Ca. We have been approached by the principle of our elementary school to help plan a community effort to coordinate local farmers participation is suppling food stuffs to the school lunch program and to assist in the formation of a student garden and possible kitchen classroom. We are at the initial planning stage of this project having just  submitted a grant proposal for funding this week.

City Growers

City Growers administers educational tours and workshops at Brooklyn Grange rooftop farms.  Using the working farms as learning laboratories, students K-12 experience urban agriculture first hand, enabling them to better grasp where their food comes from, and empowering them to make healthy choices for themselves and the environment.

C.A.R.E.S.

At Tri-County we currently have 5 raised garden beds , a courtyard that the students designed with window boxes,and a new greenhouse. We integrate our curriculum everyday into our gardening initiative. Our students, most of whom are new to horticulure  attain valuable skills throughout the year .

The Montessori School of Englewood

 We are a new school opening in August 2012. We are interested in putting in a school garden and outdoor classroom.

The Sylvia Center

The Sylvia Center addresses issues in children’s health by providing hands-on experiences with growing and cooking healthy food on the farm and in the kitchen. Founded in 2006 by Liz Neumark in memory of her daughter, Sylvia, the center has served thousands of children over the past five years.
