About the Program:

City Growers administers educational tours and workshops at Brooklyn Grange rooftop farms.  Using the working farms as learning laboratories, students K-12 experience urban agriculture first hand, enabling them to better grasp where their food comes from, and empowering them to make healthy choices for themselves and the environment.

With City Growers, urban youth connect with soil, plants, insects and animals against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline.  Some students discover their own green thumbs, while others discover that fresh lettuce is pretty delicious!  A visit to Brooklyn Grange stirs the imagination, demonstrating that with a little creativity and a lot of hard work, anything is possible.

City Growers programs are offered at Brooklyn Grange's farms in Long Island City, Queens, and the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
