Sagamore Hills STEM Garden

Sagamore Hills Elementary School's S.T.E.M. Garden program was developed to give our students the opportunity to put the knowledge gained in the classroom to work in a real world environment. Having them leave the confines of the traditional classroom and get out into nature has proven to be the optimal environment for the best hands-on, experiential learning to happen. Every component of our program not only correlates and compliments the state required curriculum but expands upon it, allowing our students' natural curiosities, imagination, and ingenuity to take flight.

Lincoln Green Thumbs @ Lincoln Elementary School Garden

The Lincoln Elementary Green Thumbs Garden is located in the small, rural town of Bedford, Indiana.  Our garden originally began as a project for Mrs. Hooten’s 5th grade class back in 2014. They rented a plot at the Bedford Community Garden and took field trips throughout the spring and summer to plant, weed, & harvest.  In 2016, we were able to begin a new program, Lincoln Green Thumbs.

FRESHFARM FoodPrints Program

What is FoodPrints?

FoodPrints is FRESHFARM Market’s food education program that aims to make positive changes in what children and their families eat through highly engaging, hands-on experiences with growing, harvesting, cooking and eating nutritious, local foods in season.   We work in partnership with administrators and teachers to ensure that FoodPrints is a relevant, enriching program that teaches Common Core, Next Generation Science and DCPS/OSSE Health standards, and that adapts to the unique curricular goals of each school we partner with.

Level Grove Elementary School Garden

Level Grove's school garden was built in the fall of 2015 with help from Northeast Georgia Farm to School. Level Grove's Farm to School team has taught multiple standards-based, garden-themed lessons across grade levels and disciplines, and has expanded their garden area to include vermicomposting, a compost tumbler (for a limited number of cafeteria scraps), and a weather station.

Cornelia Explorers Garden

Cornelia Elementary established a school garden in fall of 2015 with the help of Northeast Georgia Farm to School and Farm Bureau of Habersham County. The fifth grade team at Cornelia initiated and facilitated the construction of the garden, but the school hopes all teachers and grade levels will be able utilize the garden space as it grows.

Green School

Boca Raton Christian School maintains several gardens on campus.  Teachers and students are encouraged to grow food and enjoy organic vegetables.

Composting is used on campus with two worm chimneys built into our gardens.

We also have a butterfly garden attracting six different species.  Students learn about the life cycle of the butterfly through first hand experience . ( Egg, larva, pupa, adult)

New Heights in Learning

New Heights in Learning creates hands-on, real-world learning environments in a wide range of settings. Our model of learning is centered on motivating and engaging both achieving and underachieving students by connecting meaningful hands-on learning experiences to classroom activities and state standards.
