About the Program:

FOLO stands for Feed Our Loved Ones. FOLO Farms is run by six families on a mission to feed the world nutritionally power packed, bio-nutrient rich vegetables. Our farming methods are 100% organic, although we have not got round to getting certified organic status yet.

We have three farms in JB. Our first is a half acre farm at Kempas. This is a demo farm, where we do all our experimenting. This is the only farm open to public at the moment as we have built a proper events space/café here. We run events such as school tours, private workshops, cooking lessons.

Our second is a six-acre farm at Ban Foo. This is our compost facility and main production farm. Our third is a five-acre piece of land at Kukup. This will be our wellness farm. Currently we are letting the land rehabilitate as this used to be a palm oil plantation.

Currently we are able to feed the vegetable needs of 35 families and have more on the waiting list.

Our Vision is simply to Feed Our Loved Ones. Our families started FOLO to provide reason to reconnect with our loved ones through Farm and Food.

By “Feed”, we mean:

  • Feeding our bodies with health-giving veggies and microbes
  • Feeding our hearts and minds: Creating space and activities for our community, especially children and those who are not well.

Our vision in the long run is to feed, not just our immediate families and our community, but also our society and to create a whole movement of community and wellness, by inspiring others to join us and form FOLO-type farms.

The three pillars that make up our FOLO philosophy is Composting, Community and Wellness. These guide and anchor us in our direction and decisions.
