SideChef is an innovative step by step cooking app launching in Feb 2014. By walking users through a recipe with voice guidance, step by step photos, and automatic timers, SideChef makes it fun and easy to try new cuisines and master techniques, while also keeping a photo journal of every dish you have cooked!

Farmer Frog

Farmer Frog is Branch of the 501c3 non-profit organization, Foundation for Sustainable Communities. We are promoting, supporting, teaching, and practicing intense urban and small scale agriculture utilizing cutting edge season extender technologies producing 365 days a year. Our organization was and continues to be inspired by Will Allen’s Growing Power model.

The life of George Washington Carver will always be remembered through his contributions to humanity, agriculture, and our environment. He left behind a selfless legacy to guide future generations into greater heights. Father Carver, as we affectingly call him, had a passion for teaching his students and taking them “into the field” for research at Tuskegee Institute (Tuskegee University). 

The Human Path Sustainable Gardening Program

Sustainable gardening makes up an important part of the homestead movement back to better health and a stronger connection to the land.  Introducing these garden techniques to youth is a great way to bring simple concepts into their every day life and give an alternative to the highly processed fast-food that is present everywhere.  Putting youth in charge of the growing process as well as the harvest and preserving of the food teaches life-long self reliance skills that will benefit them regardless of where they live.  The ability to effectively grow both medicinal and edible plants is one

Soil America is a non profit based out of The Redland in Homestead, Florida.

We serve and offer our resources to Greater Miami & the Florida Keys. (Miami-Dade / Broward + Monroe County)

We stand for clear communication between growers and the public.

Raising awareness in communities about clean food is important, not just for our health, but also for the agricultural integrity our soil deserves.

Common Threads Farm and School Garden Collective

 At Common Threads Farm, we are on a mission to connect children and youth with healthy food through seed-to-table educational experiences. We currently reach over 3000 youth annually through our school-based gardening and cooking programs, our partnerships with nonprofits serving low-income youth, and our open-enrollment Farm Camp and Camp Pizza programs. In each of these programs, children are engaged in planting, tending, harvesting, cooking, eating, and - in some instances - selling produce at EBT (food stamp) accessible farm stands.

Students for Environmental Sustainability

SES (Students for Environmental Sustainability) is a year old organization started by students at Kennesaw State University outside of Atlanta. The purpose of this organization is to develope a sustainable model of local food production and distribution in an urban environment. 

 

MA‘O Organic Farms

Our community of Wai‘anae is located on the west side of the island of O‘ahu and consists of six major ahupua‘a (ancient land divisions). In ancient times, Wai‘anae was a self-sufficient region that produced adequate amounts of food for its people while managing its land and water resources sustainably.
