Rodgers Ranch Urban Farm & Teaching Gardens

Rodgers Ranch is a small farm tucked in the middle of Pleasant Hill, CA.

It's a place to for anyone to come and learn about how to grow edible plants, raise bees, and all things related to gardening and farming.

Rodgers Ranch was begun as a farm back in the 1800's, and we are now continuing it's legacy by using it as a place to work on a real farm.

The farm is in a quiet, safe and relaxing location, with wonderful air and good views of Mt. Diablo.

Growing Minds Farm to School Program

Like Farm to school programs nationally, ASAP’s Growing Minds Farm to School Program has also expanded. What began as a school garden program in 2002 is now a holistic Farm to School program that incorporates all four components. The program provides resources and training to teachers, schools, Child Nutrition Directors, cafeteria staff, parents, extension agents, farmers, and other community stakeholders to encourage and sustain Farm to School efforts.

MaMa Florence

MaMa Florence is a new cooking school in Florence. It is a space created to offer cooking classes to people of all levels of cooking skill and to enable them to explore food, nutrition, ingredients, techniques and tastes in a convivial and warm environment in the heart of Tuscany.

The Carrot Academy

The Carrot Academy is an initiative to offer alternative classroom like experiences to youth at our LOVE Building facility. A traditional Academy event allows children to go out into the garden and work with plants, weed and harvest, compost and plant. They then take some of  their bounty into the kitchen, prepare their meal and sit down and talk about a topic related to their self sufficiency, self esteem and sustainable food systems. Then they wash up and put their dishes away.

Springhouse Green

The reinvention of our food system is now part of the national dialogue with employers, employees, and communities at large looking to positively affect today’s concerns about escalating health care costs, food security and nutrition, personal and family health, community development, and “carbon footprint.” Springhouse Green offers simple solutions for greening corporate and community spaces with vegetable garden buildouts, nutrition counseling, lunch-and-learn workshops, garden maintenance services, and LEED applications.

Manitoba Nature Summit, Inc.

The Manitoba Nature Summit Inc. is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization invested in incorporating nature into children's lives. Research shows that children have become alienated from nature and its curative and inspiring effects. How do we reconnect children - who spend an average of between 1.5 to 6.5 hours a day with electronic media (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2005 and 2006) - back to the outdoors?

National Farm to School Network

The National Farm to School Network envisions a nation in which Farm to School programs are an essential component of strong and just local and regional food systems, ensuring the health of all school children, farms, the environment, economy and communities.
