Catawba River District Whitewater Farms

Catawba River District has two goals: 1 - develop a sustainable regional vision and 2-create a network of schoolyard gardens (currently 6 - targetign 11) imbedded with STEM (science technology engineering and math) curriculum, connected to a CSA (community supported agriculture) program to support the gardens in the summer and a "sustainable" working farm in the center of the network, adjacent to one of our middle schools.  Whitewater Farms involves both a working CSA where participates work 1 hour per week and receive discounted locally grown food, and a working farm with grass fed beef, s

Desert Garden Montessori is a private school in Phoenix, AZ and we have an organic lunch program along with a small garden program that all children in school can participate in.  We believe in taking care of the earth and helping children connect to the outside world through gardening and composting programs.

Brownsville Student Farm Project; The Garden at PS 323

The garden at PS323 is a 7,500 ft2 mini-farm build and administered by a seperate non-profit, Student Farm Project.  The Project is located in Brownsville, Brooklyn.

West Point Elementary School Garden Project

West Point Elementary School Garden is beginning it's third season of in-ground, organic gardening. We have spent the first two years building, cultivating and amending our very poor soil. Despite this, we have been able to grow many vegetables and fruits including tomatoes, squash, peas, corn, cucumbers, strawberries, potatoes, onions and garlic. Most of the harvest is eaten right there in the garden, but some is added to our salad bar in the school cafeteria.

We are a brand new lunch program that is reforming the old school re-heated foods into farm fresh organic fruits and vegetables.  Through donations from the Orfalea Foundation of Santa Barbara, Ca we have built a full service kitchen that is feeding 350-400 student each day.  We have a farm gleaning program through Santa Ynez Valley Fruit & Vegetable Rescue.  The organic local farms are gleaned daily, and truck loads of the fresh organic produce is brought to our kitchen and made in to delicious soups, salads, sauces and dressings for the students at Solvang's "Viking Cafe". 

Towson University Child Care Center

We are a small university Lab school, with students aged 2 years to 5 years. We are promoting the use of a vegetable garden and environmental emergent curriculum. Seed to table explorations.

St.catherine's community garden

 The St. Catherine's community garden is a place where the entire school can either work together or as classes. 

Sustainable Nantucket Farm to School Program

Sustainable Nantucket is a non-profit organization that is cultivating a healthy Nantucket by building a better local food system which in turn means a stronger economy for the island. We are actively expanding sustainable agriculture, on-island farm growth, encouraging entrepreneurial cottage industry, and helping to create new networks for our local agri-business community.

FUNN 2 Project: Families Understanding Nature and Nutrition

The Extended School Program of Murfreesboro City Schools (MCS) is developing a gardening program at 3 schools this sping. The program has 3 funding sources: a grant from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), Pillsbury, and the Soil Conservation Service.
