Greenville Community Gardens

Our Mission

Greenville Gardens’ core mission is to empower residents to be advocates for sustainable communities, allowing our members to transform Greenville into an environmentally friendly green space and sustainable community through their personal participation and leadership.

Everyone deserves the right to good food. Better. Fresher. Cheaper. Early in 2011, the seed for the Greenville Community Gardens project was envisioned and began to take root in the mind of its creator, Jeffrey B. Besecker.

LIFT - Levantate

LIFT - Levántate is a non-profit that provides wellness resources to low-income communities through workshops; events; and before, in and after school programs that encourage healthy life choices through nutrition, cooking, gardening, physical activity and lifeskills education, hands-on. We are an organization “without walls,” meaning that our programs are multi-lingual, multi-cultural, 100% free of fees for all participants, and, above all, are tailored to meet the varying needs of the community.

Community Garden Network School Garden Committee

VISION of the CGN School Garden Committee:

Every school in Athens will have a vegetable garden accessible to enhance instruction that engages students, staff, families and the community.

MISSION of the CGN School Garden Committee:

To serve the students and educators of Athens-Clarke County by maintaining a central database of school gardens projects
To connect local schools with the community resources to build and maintain gardens sites as outdoor classrooms

Lockeland School Garden

The Lockeland Design Center garden will be comprised of three connected areas: a raised bed food production area, a butterfly garden area, and a school classroom area. The garden is to be located in the back of the school, just outside the cafeteria. This area was chosen for both it’s proximity to an existing water source, and for security as it located within a fenced area.

Hiland Hall Garden

Hiland Hall Garden is a beautiful historic garden located in the village of North Bennington, Vermont. The garden and grapery serve as an outdoor classroom for gardening, art and healthy eating for local schools.

AGAPE 24-hour Child Development Centers

AGAPE 24-hr CDC is partnering with Project Sweetie Pie and other community gardening programs to help strengthen family/community educational, wealth, and wellness goals.  We expect to see changes in the relationhip to food consuming and food growing/producing, leading to making better/smarter choices in food selection while increasing family/student health and wealth attainment.  Our centers are located in one of the largest urban areas in Minnesota.  We face health, education, and wealth disparities that can be addressed through our project's practical approach.  Our engagement objective
