Pre-Kindergarten

Homestead Family YMCA Preschool

We are a preschool provider in Miami serving children from 1-5 years old. We currently began our small garden and would like to grow some of the food we eat in school. We are very interested in this project.

Grow Some Good

Grow Some Good is a nonprofit community program dedicated to creating hands-on, outdoor learning experiences that cultivate curiosity about natural life cycles, connect students to their food sources, and inspire better nutrition choices.

In addition to helping establish food gardens and living science labs in local schools, we provide resources and curriculum support through community partnerships in agriculture, science, food education and nutrition.

Healthy Tummy Initiative

As a family-oriented, Naturopathic Doctor and food lover, my goal is to become much more involved in the nutrition and education communities ensuring that children are getting fed (and fed well!) both at home and in the classroom.

Building School Gardens

Started during the 2006–07 school year, Building School Gardens installs gardens at Chicago public schools to achieve the following purposes:

• Develop "garden teams" to support the garden,
• Integrate the gardens into multi-disciplinary curriculum at multiple grade levels,
• Use art creatively in the landscape,
• Instill an environmental ethic in those who the gardens effect, and
• Incorporate physical activity as a regular daily activity

Friends of St. Francis Childcare Center

Friends of St. Francis is a 35 year old multicultural preschool serving children ages two to five from families of all economic backgrounds.

The Food Lab and the Farm at Walker Jones

Walker Jones Education Campus is a pre-K through 8th grade school, with a total of about 450 students.  Located in the heart of Washington, DC, we are home to DC's largest urban farm and our budding food lab.

Ruth Washburn Cooperative Nursery School

We are a parent cooperative preschool in Colorado Springs, CO.  Gardening is an important part of our school curriculum, the emphasis being on teaching the children at a young age healthy eating habits and how our produce is grown. We have a wonderful fenced garden with raised beds, but are trying to find ways to maximise our growing season and make it a continuum even though the children are gone over the summer and are in a different class the following school year.

Butternut Community Preschool

The mission of the Butternut Community Preschool is to promote a child’s natural love of learning. This mission is accomplished through an emergent curriculum guided by the interests of the children, but designed to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for their future academic success. Projects are designed to encourage the children to collaborate, discuss and ask questions.

Costa Verde International School Garden and Lunch Program

Costa Verde is a private International school that is serving the community of Sayulita, Nayarit, (Mx).  Our school offers a progressive, environmental, bilingual, and whole child education.  Currently we are making strides towards expanding on our potential to utilize our gardens for a greater impact in nurishing our students bodies and minds.  Our goal is to start a lunch program that offers meals that are grown, prepared and enjoyed by our students.
