Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation is growing a food revolution from the ground up! Our key vision is pleasurable food education – skills for learning, skills for life.

We are changing the way children approach and think about food. All around the country, children are enthusiastically getting their hands dirty and learning how to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal food.

Sustainable Love from Development

Sustainable Love is dedicated to educating children about foods and nutrition by offering healthy foods at meal times, providing education materials about the foods being served, helping students create a garden and guiding children in preparing healthy snacks.

Our pilot project is taking place at Peaceful Valley Montessori Academy in Golden Valley. We've succeeded in providing healthy, naturally delicious meals. The garden and educational program was started and May and is coming along slowly, but we keep working to succeed.

Endeavor Learning Center

Endeavor Learning Center enrolls infants through 3rd graders. Our Mission is to prepare our children to care for their environment and each other through gardening, composting, recycling, and enjoying the outdoors. We feel the younger these habits are instilled the more likely they will be carried through adulthood.

We are surrounded by 5.8 acres of a Wildlife Habitat. The children are creating an edible forest, organic gardens, a native plant prairie, and this year helping to build a haybale greenhouse.

Garden of Learning

Garden of Learning is an award winning program that allows schools to start and sustain a successful academic garden program. It includes 10 CDs with materials to help you initiate, implement and sustain a successful school garden program:

DC Central Kitchen: Locally Sourced, Scratch-Cooked School Meals

Across America, a new movement has emerged urging schools to offer healthier food options to children. The movement for tastier school food, called for by kids of all ages, is much older.

At DC Central Kitchen, we are proving that healthy, scratch-cooked meals can be enjoyable for children, affordable for school districts, and valuable for teachers who need children to be nourished and focused.
