The Elaine Clark Center

The christ Child Society of Atlanta is a chapter of the National Christ Child Society, a charitable federation of 40 chapters. Elizabeth's Garden is the Atlanta Chapter's Signature Program and was created to be an outdoor classroom, a living laboratory for students of the Elaine Clark Center to explore nature with their 5 senses. Our goal is to bring this Garden into the Classroom with monthly Cooking Classes and Classroom Activities.

We will build the soils fertility through green cover crops and compost additions. We will build raised beds, build a perimeter around the field to limit grass and weed infiltration to the field. Burlington High School

Together, the Burlington School Food Project (BSFP), students, and staff are re-envisioning the campus at Burlington High School. Currently, we have 11 raised beds, 3 in-ground plots, a functioning greenhouse, and a new tool shed thanks to partnership with the Burlington High School Boosters Club (go seahorses!). In the spring we hope to both streamline our gardens and create a much larger half-acre production farm. The farm will be based on principals of permaculture, and will be developed as part of a hands-on certification course through Yestermorrow Design Build School.
