Company Overview

There are many definitions and different ways for communities to attain a more sustainable future. The sustainability of a community depends on creating and maintaining its economic and environmental health, promoting social equity, and fostering broad-based citizen participation in planning and implementation.

Green Gardener

The Green Gardener is a part-time contract supporting school and pre-school gardens across the Kapiti Coast District (21 schools and high schools, a similar number of preschools, not all of which have gardens, yet.)

YMCA Active Green Space

The Active Green Space is an engaging space where community members benefit from a hands on learning experience, explore the process of horticulture, learn the advantages of proper nutrition, harness and utilize green energy alternatives and prevent prevalent health concerns.

Our mission is to teach the process of horticulture, to develop proper nutrition habits, and improve the overall health of our participants through an understanding of where food comes from, how it grows and how these processes are affected by our lifestyle.

Whole Kids Foundation

Whole Kids Foundation is dedicated to helping kids eat better—and enjoy it!

We are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) founded by Whole Foods Market and guided by the same values, principles, expertise and standards for quality ingredients, food production methods and nutrition.

Our Mission

Come Grow With Us - PASC

We are a special needs school serving learners with Autism between the ages of 4 and 21.  Our garden is being used to address vocational needs for high school students, develop leisure/recreational skills that can be shared, improve communication skills, and meet cross-curricular academic goals.

Silicon Valley HealthCorps

In an innovative partnership, The Health Trust has joined together with AmeriCorps and 10 local organizations to form the Silicon Valley HealthCorps. The goal of this collaboration is to improve community health by providing ongoing garden-based nutrition education to youth in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. The HealthCorps will also increase the availability and affordability of locally grown produce through the development of new community and school gardens, low-cost farm stands, and community supported agriculture (CSA) programs.

Onalaska School Gardens

Our school garden program consists of four projects; the Salad Bar Gardens, the Family Garden Club, the OMS Asparagus Garden and the OHS Life Skills Plant Sale. The goal of the district's garden program is to help kids understand where their food comes from, improve nutrition by encouraging the consumption of vegetables and to create hands-on experiences that support the regular curriculum.

CURBSIDE GARDENS

At Curbside gardens the students learn about the science of gardening and the complete plant cycle, from seed to seed. The food that is produced in the gardens is used to teach about healthy eating and donated to help support the school's culinary arts program. The cooking classes help support healthy eating in the school as well as making meals for those in need in the community.

The garden begins late each fall with the planting of the garlic. Early spring the seeds are planted indoors and finally transfered to the gardens by late May.
