 MSU Extension in Chippewa County partners with the Upper Peninsula Food Exchange, the Eastern Upper Peninsula (EUP) Food Hub, and EUP Intermediate School District on local food initiatives in the region that support school gardens, hoop houses and farm to school efforts.

 At Common Threads Farm, we are on a mission to connect children and youth with healthy food through seed-to-table educational experiences.

 The school/community garden was created in response to the community's need that were brought up during a town hall meeting at the local elementary school in 2013. The community is in need of access to nutritious foods for its students and residents. 

 Our Green Paws Ecoliteracy program is funded by the Jose Ortega PTA. Each week our Garden Consulant works with students and teachers in the garden areas of our school.

Mala`ai: The Culinary Garden of Waimea Middle School cultivates the relationship between students and the land through growing and sharing nourishing food in our outdoor living classroom.

SES (Students for Environmental Sustainability) is a year old organization started by students at Kennesaw State University outside of Atlanta. The purpose of this organization is to develope a sustainable model of local food production and distribution in an urban environment.
