JIES Beacon Experience Garden

The JIES Beacon Experience Garden will  educate students to cherish their health, wellness and environment. The garden will provide fresh fruit and vegetables to students and their families and encourage and educated them to be successful in planting and maintain a home garden.  The garden will be a catalyst for our students to become responsible, healthy, eco-friendly adults.

Catawba River District Whitewater Farms

Catawba River District has two goals: 1 - develop a sustainable regional vision and 2-create a network of schoolyard gardens (currently 6 - targetign 11) imbedded with STEM (science technology engineering and math) curriculum, connected to a CSA (community supported agriculture) program to support the gardens in the summer and a "sustainable" working farm in the center of the network, adjacent to one of our middle schools.  Whitewater Farms involves both a working CSA where participates work 1 hour per week and receive discounted locally grown food, and a working farm with grass fed beef, s

Desert Garden Montessori is a private school in Phoenix, AZ and we have an organic lunch program along with a small garden program that all children in school can participate in.  We believe in taking care of the earth and helping children connect to the outside world through gardening and composting programs.

Chugach Optional Garden Club

The Chugach Optional Elementary Garden Club is an after-school program in grades 3 -6.  The purpose of the garden club is to provide students with the opportunity to participate in as many aspects of gardening as possible.  It's goal is to offer students hands-on experiences that extend from the classroom curriculum and foster an appreciation for the natural world by encouraging awareness of the connections between plants, animals, food, nutrition, health and the environment.

FOG - Friends of Greenhouse

Friends of Our Greenhouse (FOG) association is a group of individuals that provides advice, training, in kind support and financial support to the greenhouse at Lacombe Composite High School. The community shares in responsibilities & benefits.

The Grove School Farm

The Grove School is a Montessori public charter school in Redlands which is located in San Bernardino County in California. Grove serves students from 7th to 12th grade. Grove is unique in that it is the only public Montessori school in the US with a working farm. The middle school is located on a working farm that has both livestock and organic garden produce.

CICS - Irving Park Elementary School Garden

CICS - Irving Park Elementary School is a Chicago Public School Charter School. We are located on the northwest side of Chicago in the Irving Park neighborhood. 70% of our students receive free or reduced fee lunch. Our school is 70% Latino.

Last year, parents built a raised bed school garden and wencelebrated our first harvest by making butternut squash soup for our teaching staff. This year will mark our second growing season. 

Cultivating Curiosity

 Cutivating Curiosity is a Farm to School Program started at McKinley Elementary school in Salem in partnership with our parent-teacher club. We are just starting on our goal of promoting healthy, local eating to students and raising their awareness of where our food comes from.
