The Yisrael Family Urban Farm

The Yisrael Family Urban Farm serves the “at-promise” area of South Oak Park which is home to 90,000 people, designated as a primary funding area according to the California Endowment, Building Healthy Communities Initiative, a low-moderate income area according to HUD, and Promise Zone Designation according to HUD. In this area, 17% are food insecure, 46% have been utilizing food assistance programs for over 1 year, there is a 34% Poverty Rate and an 18% Unemployment Rate (California unemploment rate 6.3%).

Local Food Alliance

Local Food Alliance (LFA) is a backbone organization - we coordinate and facilitate existing programs, organizations and efforts that share the goal of a resilient local food system. A key and critical component towards that end is farm to school food, not only for student health, self-esteem and performance (academic and athletic), but also for its positive impact upon community and local econonomy and the values it instills in our school children.

SLS Peace Garden

SLS Preschool is an Urban Independent program located in the city of San Francisco. We have a unique roof top environment where we have been developing an outdoor program, and interactive garden space for our student’s ages 3-5 years old. We have named our roof top space the Peace Garden, the values of our program emphasise respect and mindfulness. It is an opportunity to introduce children, possibly for the first time to an outdoor classroom. Children are learning where food comes from, along with the importance of how it is grown.

Rutgers Master Gardeners of Monmouth County - School Programs Committee

Rutgers Master Gardeners are volunteers trained and certified by Rutgers Cooperative Extension to provide educational programs and activities in support of environmentally responsible gardening.  The group is dedicated to education, outreach, and suport.

Peres Elementary School

Peres Elementary School serves a diverse population.  76% of the population is made up of Hispanic or Latino students; 19.3% is Black or African American; 2.6% is Asian; 0.9% is White; 0.6% is Filipino; 0.6% is two or more races; 0.2% is Native Hawaiian or Island Pacific.  99.6% of our student population is socioeconomically disadvantaged.  We service 59.9% English Language Learners and 11.8% students with disabilities.

Meadowbrook Waldorf School

The Meadowbrook Waldorf School offers Waldorf education to children in pre-kindergarten through Grade 8, with additional programs for younger children and their caregivers.Our beautiful campus has 28 acres of woods, streams and magical glades for exploration and play.

Natomas Unified School District

Natomas Unified School District (NUSD) Nutrition Services' mission is to educate and to enable our nutrition service staff to provide healthy meals to the students and the community which nurtures an environment where our guest achieve overall wellness and lifelong success. 

Manzano Day School

Manzano Day School is a private elementary school located in an urban area of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our school serves 460 students in PreK through 5th grade. Our student body includes 45% children of color. Manzano Day School is dedicated to innovative, child-centered education, excellence in teaching, and joy in learning to prepare children for a life of discovery and community involvement in our diverse world.
