About the Program: 

Peres Elementary School serves a diverse population.  76% of the population is made up of Hispanic or Latino students; 19.3% is Black or African American; 2.6% is Asian; 0.9% is White; 0.6% is Filipino; 0.6% is two or more races; 0.2% is Native Hawaiian or Island Pacific.  99.6% of our student population is socioeconomically disadvantaged.  We service 59.9% English Language Learners and 11.8% students with disabilities.

At Peres Elementary we believe that all students can and will succeed in a rigorous educational environment. We value and instill the principles of efficacy, emphasizing a "work hard, get smart" mindset for students and staff. The use of data driven instruction ensures that we remain focused on our goal of proficiency and college readiness for all students. Our structured school environment aims to not only building academic proficiency, but also develop strong character.  

Peres is a Full Service Community School. The goal of WCCUSD Full Service Community Schools (FSCS) is to increase student and family well-being by offering access to high quality coordination of comprehensive academic, social, emotional, and health services that align with the WCCUSD graduate profile that prepares students to be college, career, and community ready.  Peres provides the following services:  Dental care through our dental clinic; daily physical education through Playworks; afterschool program for students 1-6 grades through YMCA; counselling services; full-time school community outreach staff member.
