Seattle Parks & Recreation's Urban Food Systems Program

Seattle Parks & Recreation’s mission is to provide welcoming and safe opportunities to play, learn, contemplate & build community, and promote responsible stewardship of the land. The Urban Food Systems Program’s core value is to be a learning organization that creates opportunities for the most-impacted communities to equitably and powerfully engage with local, sustainable food systems. Good Food Gardens serve communities with significant Southeast Asian, East African, African American, and Latino populations in central and south Seattle.

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle

Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is an innovative hunger-relief organization serving seven counties in and around the Triangle area of North Carolina.  We believe hunger IS fixable if the community works together to do two things: create sources of healthy food in every low-income neighborhood and grow opportunities for people to provide for themselves by learning job skills or growing their own food.

Gallatin Valley Farm to School

Gallatin Valley Farm to School serves to connect schools with local producers in the Gallatin Valley of Southwest Montana. We teach classroom and garden lessons to students in grades K-8 in order to educate them about healthy food and where it comes from, and provide resources to teachers to carry out this programming on their own. We also work with school district food service to provide resources to purchase products from producers in the Gallatin Valley.

Bloomington Community Orchard

Bloomington Community Orchard is an organization devoted to growing fruit for the community and growing our orcharding skills through educational opportunities.
