HIP Ag

HIP Ag K-20 Ag-Nutrition Pipeline serves through offering farm fieldtrips, in-class and in-school garden workshops, HS farmer mentorship for Kohala Ag & IET classes, and post secondary 1-year farm apprenticeship.  HIP Ag serves as partner to Kohala DOE complex to support Hawaii State's F2S and G2C pilot programs.  Mission: To practice and teach ecologically conscious agriculture, empowering individuals and communities to cultivate alternative systems of living that restore human and environmental health.

Una escuela de colores aims to connect with food to children and adults in a positive way. We believe that the game is one of the essential tools for the educational process, that is why we work from a vision where self discovery, free play, philosophy for children, attentive listening are fundamental for the development of our programs. Biodiversity is a fundamental part of our program. Mexico has very serious health problems and also has a great opportunity from our identity and gastronomy that we seek to rescue and show to the new generation.

The Hub Farm

The Hub Farm of Durham Public Schools is a 30-acre farm, woodland, and aquatic habitat where students, teachers and the community:

- Grow, harvest, cook and eat healthful food
- Hike, bike, and explore nature on our trail system
- Engage in experiential learning about agriculture, food systems, and natural science

Firle community allotment

Learning about food is a life changing adventure! Children often eat only the
foods that they know. When they see, experience, and prepare new foods
they often enjoy the taste. Eat Your Veggies offers a fun environment for
children to experiment with new and sometimes unusual ingredients. The
children cook real food using fresh seasonal organic ingredients with much
of the produce obtained from the school garden or local farms. Small groups
are utilized to encourage touching and tasting of vegetables and to practice

Firle community allotment

We are a community project set up to revitalise the village allotments and engage the community in growing vegetables, herbs, fruit, edible flowers and planting an orchard.

There are about 50 households in the village and 100 children attend the village school. 

We will be working with the village primary school and their cookery teacher to grow food the children can cook in school for their lunch. 

Green Scientists

The Green Scientists is a garden based educational program. Its core purpose is to develop and expand on the concept of the outdoor classroom. 

Population served are predominantly people of color. 

The programs educational content is guided by culturally relevant pedagogy as well as the pedagogical approaches of Ken Robinson, Paulo Freire, Maria Montessori and Rudolph Steiner. 

Gardopia Gardens

Gardopia Gardens mission is to teach communities the importance of practicing wellness in their daily lives. Through gardening we create an educated, healthy, and environmentally sustainable society. Gardopia Gardens was founded in 2015 by Stephen Lucke, a 25 year old college graduate who studeied biochemistry and nutrition.

The School of Arts and Sciences

The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) Garden Program provides students with the opportunity to learn about the natural world, food systems, and health through gardening and cooking classes. All 350 K-5th grade students are required to attend a 35 minute weekly gardening class in the school's 1/3 acre garden, as a part of their Special Areas class schedule. Gardening class focuses strongly on food production; teaching students the skills to grow, care for, and harvest their own food.

Climate Smart Garden and Nutritional Initiative

Community World Service Asia will be able to attend to urgent needs related to water, food security and livelihood sources that are negatively impacting on the nutrition status of the vulnerable communities in Badin district of Sindh province, Pakistan. The objective is to conduct adoptable interventions that will introduce simple and sustainable climate smart technologies as food security interventions that will contribute to improving nutritional status and also ensure resilience of community members who will be able to recover from the immediate shocks resulting from drought.

By examining and identifying sectors as well as factors that contribute to root causes of persistent poverty, Infinite Insight Inc (I3) invests in the residents of USDA StrikeForce for Rural Growth and Opportunity and USHUD Promise Zone counties.
