Parks Foundation Calgary Horticultural Program

Our Horticultural Program works towards community development using gardening. We partner with other organizations to engage diverse groups of participants who are responsible for the care and cultivation of five gardens around the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Participants learn how to grow their own edible gardens full of vegetables, herbs and flowers and also learn ways to use the items they have grown.

 

OAEC School Garden Program

A pioneer in the school gardens movement, the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center in Sonoma County, Calif., has trained and supported over 650 teachers and staff from approximately 250 schools through its School Garden Program. 75,000 children per year now benefit from school garden programs started and sustained with OAEC’s support. 

City Sprouts

We sustain communities though gardening and build a skilled workforce who will enter into jobs & careers in culinary, public health, environmental-sciences, education, and more. We grow food, feed the community, and increase the physical, emotional, and financial well being of citizens in North Omaha and the Metro Area. Young people sixteen through twenty-one years old work, learn, and practice twenty-first century skills, which make them a well rounded, experienced, and qualified employees in careers that better the health of the community.

Malmo School of Nature

Malmö School of Nature trains educators in Malmö in outdoor education linked to nature areas in and around the city and how to develope and use the schoolyards, to increase children's learning, health and development. School of Nature cooperates with several schools, organizations and departments in Malmö. We are 7 employed and my main role is to improve schoolyards and the use of schoolyards all over Malmö.

Stoney Hill Community Garden

The Stoney Hill Community Garden is a community garden that provides learning to youth ages K-12 and food to the needy in Greensboro, NC. The community of the garden is low income and in need of healthy and affordable vegetables. Our goal is to end childhood obesity in this neighborhood and encourage sustainable food practices. We are dedicated to changing the lives of many with just a few acts of kindness.

Edible Education Napa Valley

Edible Education Napa Valley Culinary Nutrition Education Programs for growing healthy children, and a sustainable community. Based in the beautiful Napa Valley, we draw on the resources of our diverse growers, farmers and ranchers to provide local, seasonal, and sustainable cooking lessons. These lessons provide hands on farm to table experiences for children, families, and community organizations. Class participants will develop practical cooking and gardening skills, a foundation for a healthy future, and a passion for nourishing food.

New Pond Farm

 Each year, using our outstanding outdoor classrooms, we bring students of all ages outside and offer hands-on environmental programs that focus on our habitats with their diverse flora and fauna. When people appreciate and understand the world around them, they become better stewards of their environment.

Edible Voices

Edible Voices is a program that broadcast stories of culinary activists - students, and culinary minded health professionals alike and creates "vignettes" or teachable moments. 

Growing Gardens

Growing Gardens digs at the root of hunger in Portland, Oregon. We organize hundreds of volunteers to build organic, raised bed vegetable gardens in backyards, front yards, side yards and even on balconies. We support low income households for three years with seeds, plants, classes, mentors and more. Our Youth Grow after school garden clubs grow the next generation of veggie eaters and growers! Through Learn & Grow workshops and work parties, we teach gardeners all about growing, preparing and preserving healthful food while respecting the health of the environment.
