Monroe County Consortia Farm to School Program

The following description is a summary of our farm to school plan funded by a 2013 USDA Farm to School Program grant: To develop Farm to School programs that will offer fresh, local foods to elementary children. We estimate that our grant activities will impact approximately 2, 900 students in our fourteen elementary schools.

The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets promotes, supports, and collaborates with farm to school stakeholders around the state to strengthen and grow farm to school efforts.

Farm to school programs are a vital tool we can use to promote agricultural literacy in schools so that, from an early age, students can be learning the value of nutrition, developing healthy eating habits, and understanding where their food comes from.

FIS Farm to School Program

South Carolina Department of Agriculture Farm to School Program

The South Carolina Farm to School Program originated in 2011 as a two-year project funded from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. Since the program began, it has expanded to not only include more funded schools, but also other institutions including preschools. In 2015, the umbrella organization South Carolina Farm to Institution was founded to encompass a wide variety of institutional sites beyond preschools and schools.

People For People Charter School Farm to School

The following description is a summary of our farm to school plan funded by a 2013 USDA Farm to School Program grant: PFPCS, an urban K-8 Local Education Agency, will develop a plan for F2S efforts to provide healthy lunches to students through integration of locally sourced products on our menu.

Norristown Farm to School Project
