John Barry School Garden

The John Barry School Garden was planted for the first time in May 2010.  Since then it has doubled in size.  We grow vegetables, flowers and strawberries.  Children work throughout the summer taking care of the garden, researching garden related questions, harvesting and making recipes using the fresh produce.  

We hope to start a small "farmer's market" soon.

Castle Rock Ranch Camp

Castle Rock Ranch Camp is a summer camp for kids located in the Bitterroot Mountain range in Idaho's northern panhandle.  We're a kids camp with a farm-to-table curriculum, located on a ranch with a mile of frontage on the Coeur D'Alene river.  Our mission is to cultivate an interest in ranch life, the outdoors, sustainable food, gardening and agriculture, and to disconnect from technology and reconnect with the natural world in a soul-rejuvenating, rural setting.  Kids ride horses and float down the river everyday, but also learn about ranch animal care and growing food.  The majority of o

Wellness in the Schools

Wellness in the Schools is a national non-profit that inspires healthy eating, environmental awareness, and fitness as a way of life for kids in public schools. Through meaningful public-private partnerships, we work with schools to provide healthy, scratch-cooked meals, active recess periods, and fitness and nutrition education. Our partnership approach drives systemic, long-term change, shifting the entire culture of schools.

Growing Minds Farm to School Program

Like Farm to school programs nationally, ASAP’s Growing Minds Farm to School Program has also expanded. What began as a school garden program in 2002 is now a holistic Farm to School program that incorporates all four components. The program provides resources and training to teachers, schools, Child Nutrition Directors, cafeteria staff, parents, extension agents, farmers, and other community stakeholders to encourage and sustain Farm to School efforts.

Mary McLeod Bethune Day Academy PCS

mary McLeod BEthune Day Academy and garden partners collaborate with classroom teachers to teach science and nutrition lessons in the school garden and offer a regular after-school enrichment program experiences. Garden activities extend the vital science and nutrition learning beyond the school day and connect students to the development and daily care of their school garden. All students will have the opportunity to benefit from opportunities to learn about science and health in their school garden.

Brenham ISD Outdoor Education

The Outdoor Education Program at Brenham ISD develops and coordinates outdoor learning activites for students in Pre-K through Grade 12. We are building on a strong foundation to reach every student in every classroom.
