MU Children's Learning Garden

 The MU Children's Learning Garden is a collaboration between the MU Child Development Lab and the USDA-Agricultural Research Services People's Garden Project. With the help of University of Missouri community organizers and faculture, the garden provides learning experiences for Children ages 18 months to 5 years old. During the growing season, children participate in all aspects of planning, growing, and preparing foods. The garden is meant to reconnect children with food and nature and facilitate transdisciplinary collaboration on the Land Grant University.

CTC School Garden

 CTC School Garden has been developed to expand Environmental Education within our school. We serve students with special needs from pre-k to 21 on 2 campuses. Through fundraising, grants, community support and a partnership with "My Local Garden" we have been able to develop a school garden. We are now in the process of supporting our staff in the development and implementation of Environmental Education through our garden. We are also working on the development of educational and sensory environments that enhance the learning environment for our students.

East Fort Worth Montessori Academy

 East Fort Worth Montessori Academy's Outdoor Learning Environment is a rich combination of learning gardens and produce gardens. Our children are immersed in a variety of plants and animals to enrich their learning experience. The Outdoor Environment contains a walking meditative labyrinth, a butterfly garden, a rose garden, a pond, as well as goats, chickens and rabbits. The production gardens are in progress with a number of projects making headway with the ebbs and flows of nature.

FoodCorps Connecticut

FoodCorps is a nationwide team of leaders that connects kids to real food and helps them grow up healthy.

Mission
Through the hands and minds of emerging leaders, FoodCorps strives to give all youth an enduring relationship with healthy food.

Edible Ajo Schoolyard (EASY)

Ajo Edible School Yard Program The Ajo Unified School District (AUSD) School Garden Program began in the spring of 2008 driven by the then-public health nurse Fran Driver, also an AUSD parent. The program soon partnered with Desert Senita Community Health Center (DSCHC) and grew to serve 2 Elementary Science and Math classes and 3 High School Culinary Arts Classes. In spring 2013, the AUSD and DSCHC, received a small grant that allowed DSCHC Garden Promotora, Melanie Daniel and AUSD Principle, Brian MacKenzie to attend the Edible School Yard Project training at Berkley California.

Children & youths' gardening association/ Kumpula school garden/ Green Branch Youth Program

The Helsinki School Garden celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2012.  The original motivation for school gardening activities in the city  was the concern for the welfare of the working class families.

First School Garden Program, Good Food Sandhills

 In 2007, NC ranked 5th in the nation for childhood obesity; where 42% of Moore County students were overweight or obese. Moore County is populated by many low-income communities struggling to access healthy food while other areas are lush with manicured lawns & golf courses. The FirstSchool Garden Program was developed in response to that growing childhood obesity crisis in Moore County.

The Giving Field on Liberty Street

 The Giving Field on Liberty Street is a donation garden with a mission of feeding the hungry fresh, organic fruits and vegetables, as well as, provide education on living a healthier and more sustainable life through the garden.  All of the harvested food goes to the area soup kitchens to feed the hungry. 

 

This one acre piece of land is located across the street from St. Anne School that teaches children from pre-k thru eighth grade. The students and parents take an active part in planting, maintaining and harvesting at The Field.

School Garden Resource Center, located at Common Ground High School, Urban Farm and Environmental Education Center

The School Garden Resource Center supports the creation and effective use of educational vegetable gardens in schools. We believe that by using our knowledge and resources to provide services and advice, training garden coordinators in schools and creating a network of educators committed to educational gardens we can help schools build, maintain and sustain thriving school garden programs.

Durant Tuuri Mott School Garden

 The Durant Tuuri Mott School Garden Project is a collaboration amongst the school community, the Crim Fitness Foundation, Master Gardeners, and a number of other community partners. The garden is made up of 5 large raised beds that grow herbs and vegetables. The garden is used in a number of classrooms to enhance curriculum and the produce is consumed by students during the school year and donated to local church groups during the summer months.
