Horace Mann's School Within a Park

Hello,

I am a first grade teacher in Indiana, Pennsylvania.  Our elementary school, Horace Mann, is having a playground design charette workshop for students, parents, teachers, community members, and professionals to re-think and re-design our asphalt playground- this will take place in less than a month.  I have seen your edible schoolyard on many websites, blogs, and videos.  I love your spirit and the whole premis of what you do for your students.  I hope we can incorporate many of your ideas into our new playground.

Thanks,

Jason Stubbe

NCS Gardens Project

We are a small charter school in central Indiana.  Currently, 90 kids in K-2 are involved in the gardens project.  Classes have their own raised beds and have weekly garden lessons with a volunteer instructor.  Our program, which doubled in size, is in its second year.  The focus is sustainable organic agriculture, nutrition, broadening food choices,  and understanding natural systems.

Children's Enrichment Center

We are a learning center serving children ages 3 - 11 both full day programs for early learners and after school enrichment for ages 6 - 11. We want to start our own garden and have a space of 30 x 50.

Hamlin Street Elementary Garden Club

We are a suburban, public school of approximately 400 students.  We are located in West Hills, California.  Our garden consists of 8 raised beds with a pergola and some grape vines.  We are currently growing organic vegetables and have a few fruit trees.  Our hope is to expand our garden to include espallied fruit trees.  It's good to dream!
