Washburn Farm to School

 Washburn School District Farm to School Program focuses on providing garden and nutrition education to PreK-8th grade students using project based learning in our garden. Teachers use the garden to enhance Math, Science, Social Studies, Language and Arts education. The overall vision of the Washburn Elementary and Middle School garden project is to provide greater access to and educate the public about locally grown food in the area. The food produced in the garden is utilized in the school cafeteria and in classrooms.

Upper Mississippi Academy Edible Schoolyard

 The Edible Schoolyard is one of four Experiential Learning Pathways that frame the learning program at Upper Mississippi Academy.   We have a teaching kitchen on our campus and all students participate in garden and culinary classes on a regular basis. Our school is interdisciplinary and mulit-dimensional and the outcomes and the values of the Edible Schoolyard Experiential Learning Pathway will be incorporated into all content areas and grade levels.

Parkdale Community Garden

 Our garden is a large enclosed vegetable garden, it is a learning garden on the grounds of an elementary school.  During the summer months we have local families adopt the garden for a week at a time to maintain the garden.  During the school year we have volunteers meet with classes in the garden and we have an after school garden club.

Richmond College Prep Elementary School-Grandpa Allen Learning Garden

          The Richmond College Prep Elementary School in located in Richmond, California.  It has two large gardens on its campus, the Grandpa Allen Learning Garden (GALG) on the Maritime side, and another large one on the Portables side of the campus.  In the gardens students learn hands-on farming practices such as planting, harvesting, weeding, watering, and seed saving. Through these activities, they follow a project based curriculum practicing Math, Science, English, History, and Art.

Green School Bali

Green School is an international school in Bali, Indonesia, with approximately 300 students in Pre-K through Grade 12. These include fee-paying students from 40 countries and other parts of Indonesia, along with local Balinese children who attend via a scholarship program. Our commitment to sustainable practices earned us the Center for Green Schools at the US Green Building Council's innagural award as the “Greenest School on Earth”.

Project Raw FPC

Our Company is a California based Flexible Purpose Corporation that focuses primarily in 3 areas: Outreach, Education, Community.  

Our OUTREACH program helps homeless shelters and food underprivileged organizations to maximize the shelf life of their donated fruits and vegetables.  We then teach them the nutritional benefits of them and implement high speed blenders to mix the "green" in with their smoothies.

 

Our EDUCATION program is delivered through media and website that explain and teach individuals the importance of a plant based nutritional diet.

Growing Gardens

Growing Gardens digs at the root of hunger in Portland, Oregon. We organize hundreds of volunteers to build organic, raised bed vegetable gardens in backyards, front yards, side yards and even on balconies. We support low income households for three years with seeds, plants, classes, mentors and more. Our Youth Grow after school garden clubs grow the next generation of veggie eaters and growers! Through Learn & Grow workshops and work parties, we teach gardeners all about growing, preparing and preserving healthful food while respecting the health of the environment.

We are a growing outdoor classroom for kids in K-5 in Sewickley, PA.

Good Food for Oxford Schools

Good Food for Oxford Schools (GFOS) is an initiative of the Oxford School District in Oxford, Mississippi to improve cafeteria menus and simultaneously educate students and their families.

Overseen by the Food Services Department of the Oxford School System, GFOS leverages “farm to school” principles to bring local farm produce into school cafeterias that serve more cooked-from-scratch and fresh menu items.

Working in the classroom with students, and with families after school, GFOS teaches the importance of a nutrient-rich diet that utilizes local foods when available.
