Academic Classrooms

Foodweb Education

Foodweb Education is a gardens-based program that is currently developing a framework that teaches and reinforces fundamental ecological patterns such as energy flow and matter cycles. It aims to provide students with not just a set of behaviours, but tools for conscious adaptation within natural limits and a deep understanding of the processes that sustain life.

Seeds of Change

Council First Grade's IB programme POI " Who Cares?" brings about environmental awareness. We research, plan and grow.

Malcolm L. Bell Elementary School

We broke ground in April, 2013 and with the help of many dedicated parents and other community members, the garden was up and running by the end of May!  We have approximately 5000 square feet of land.

Bluff Park Elementary

Our gardening program began as part of an Outdoor Classroom. We continue to grow and look for methods of involving our students in hands on learning to undergird making healthy food choices.

Yellville Summit School Garden

Kick started with the Delta Garden Study program, this school garden program is expanding beyond Middle School to encompass the entire Pre-K - 12 campus to provide educational opportunities, fresh produce for the school cafeteria, and additional programming.

El Paso Academy Outdoor Classroom & Community Garden

El Paso Academy is developing an Outdoor Classroom & Community Garden to give our students and their families an opportunity to connect with their food source and each other.  We are currently working on developing an infrastructure to facilitate growing sustainably in a desert climate.  This includes rain-water harvesting, drip lines for irrigation and of course, lots of shade!

This is a great group at The Edible Schoolyard Project and we are excited to share our pictures, stories, successes and challenges along the way.

Weston Public Schools

Weston Public Schools (WPS) Food Service Department is committed to providing nourishing food to help fuel our students for excellence. We seek to provide the best quality food that supports good environment practices and the local economy. Local sourcing was the first priority in our farm to school program. For local produce we work with ORFoodEx, a distribution company that carries exclusively local food. As a costal state, we also procure fresh local seafood from Red’s Best.
