Prospect Valley Elementary

We seek to create a learning environment giving students the opportunity to grow as an individual and provide them a hands-on experience learning positive healthy food habits at an early age. The garden incorporates every discipline including science math reading nutrition and health which provides a foundation for students to focus on their specific talents. The garden will also strengthen the connection of community parents and students as it is one of our Healthy School Wellness Goals.

Our garden will create meaningful relationships between students and food. It is.important for kids to know where their food comes from who grows it and how to.prepare it. Our garden will engaging students in local food production and economies provide a living laboratory where interdisciplinary lessons are drawn from daily experiences develop greater community interaction and instill the joy of cooking and the pleasures of eating nutritious tasty food.
