Waterford School District Edible Schoolyard

In support of the USDA Farm to School Planning Grant, Waterford School District has established an Edible Schoolyard in the courtyard of their Crary Campus. Featuring 17 raised beds and a Michigan-native flower bed, the crops are harvested by community students to offer an additional source of local produce to the building's kitchen in support of the Oakland County Free Summer Food Program.

Weston Public Schools

Weston Public Schools (WPS) Food Service Department is committed to providing nourishing food to help fuel our students for excellence. We seek to provide the best quality food that supports good environment practices and the local economy. Local sourcing was the first priority in our farm to school program. For local produce we work with ORFoodEx, a distribution company that carries exclusively local food. As a costal state, we also procure fresh local seafood from Red’s Best.

Land's Sake

A 501c3 nonprofit corporation, we run a public farm, host educational programming for all ages, maintain the town forest for recreational and production uses, and care for both public conservation and private land.

Our efforts are centered on three themes:

Environmental Education
Sustainable Land Management and Open Space Preservation
Community-Building and Caretaking

Marion-Polk Food Share Youth Gardens

Marion-Polk Food Share is leading the fight to end hunger in Marion and Polk counties in Oregon. While we provide emergency food boxes, we recognize we have the responsibility to address root causes of hunger and "stop the line before it starts" by providing youth nutrition awareness and food systems education in our communities.

Food For Thought

Food For Thought is a  collaborative community effort to address the silent epidemic of hunger, poor health, obesity and poverty in our community's children.

Food For Thought is offered as a science elective and after-school club to teach middle school students about stewardship, sustainablity and the connections between food, health, the environment and individual performance.
