Edison PreK-8 7th Grade Community Garden

Edison PreK-8 7th Grade class is starting a community garden this year.  They have recieved grants to farm 8 raised beds, and will hopefully hold a harvest dinner for the community before the end of this school year!

 

Castle Rock Ranch Camp

Wellness in the Schools

Wellness in the Schools is a national non-profit that inspires healthy eating, environmental awareness, and fitness as a way of life for kids in public schools. Through meaningful public-private partnerships, we work with schools to provide healthy, scratch-cooked meals, active recess periods, and fitness and nutrition education. Our partnership approach drives systemic, long-term change, shifting the entire culture of schools.

Growing Minds Farm to School Program

Like Farm to school programs nationally, ASAP’s Growing Minds Farm to School Program has also expanded. What began as a school garden program in 2002 is now a holistic Farm to School program that incorporates all four components. The program provides resources and training to teachers, schools, Child Nutrition Directors, cafeteria staff, parents, extension agents, farmers, and other community stakeholders to encourage and sustain Farm to School efforts.

Mile High Middle School Garden

The Mile High Middle School Garden is a place on our campus where students help to grow food and flowers. It is a place where the subjects of science, art, writing, math, and more combine to provide a real world example of the content for our students.

Food For Thought

We are in the very beginning stages of creating a school greenhouse. We want to include more healthy, local options into our school lunches and understand more about our food choices and the impact on our health and environment. 

Brenham ISD Outdoor Education

The Outdoor Education Program at Brenham ISD develops and coordinates outdoor learning activites for students in Pre-K through Grade 12. We are building on a strong foundation to reach every student in every classroom.
