Our mission is to seek that our communities have access to food education, so that this can provide a life filled with wellbeing and in turn permeate this culture in the immediate family.

Although we have had the opportunity to work for 5 years with public and private schools this time we will start working on a pilot program within a public school that is located in a marginalized area, this school has around 180 children from kindergarten to primary school

HES Garden Grow

The Herndon Elementary School (HES) Garden program was started in 2015 by a parent with a desire to get the students outside and have them get their hands dirty. In the 2016-17 school year, the garden program expanded to include not only time outside planting, but complimentary classroom curriculum as well. In the current 2017-18 school year, our students are studying subjects such as compost, weather, honeybees, square foot gardening, ecosystems and more. Additionally, we have students writing about the garden as part of their language arts curriculum.

ChicopeeFRESH

ChicopeeFRESH is the farm-to-school program of the Chicopee Public Schools. Our mission is to provide every student in the district with access to locally sourced and nutritious meals, along with experiential learning opportunities in the classroom and school garden. Through the ChicopeeFRESH program, we aim to achieve food security in our community, support the New England food economy, and empower our students to develop healthy and positive relationships with their food.

Winn Elementary School Garden

Our garden is just starting out, but will eventually consist of 10 edible vegetable and herb beds, and 2 beds of flowering natives to attract pollinators and provide habitat.

Crescent School Garden

We started our school garden in 2015 after we received our first Ocean Guardian School Grant from NOAA and National Marine Sanctuaries.

Student in PreK through high school get to participate in growing, learning, and harvesting in our garden. We are working towards getting more of our garden produce in the cafeteria.
