We would like to educate kids about healthier food choices to help combat the obesity problem in our county. Also to eat what we grow and to give to our food pantry. Science labs dry the gourds and make birdhouses. All H.S. students/scouts etc. get community service hours for working in the garden. Preschoolers started the marigold plants from seeds. Homec classes made zucchini breads for the staff as well as canning tomatoes etc. We had cherry tomatoes in our lunch line.
