About the Program:

The Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork's Gardening Program and Curriculum has a mission to inspire children to form a living relationship with the earth through gardening and stewardship of the land and animals. Working the land provides an opportunity to develop a sustainable relationship with the Earth. It gives the children living examples of many of their class studies. In the garden their lessons become practical, daily experiences. Children learn to work for the love of work, for others and for the sake of the whole rather than personal gain; this is the basis for building true community. The Program Vision: Gardening and care for the land and animals is to become an integral part of the curriculum of WSRF and the condition of our 13.5-acre site will reflect our commitment to stewardship of the land and nature. We seek to revitalize our land, a former homesteader’s farm, through the work of a Biodynamic farmer who provides guidance for the WSRF community.
