Valley View Elementary School

The goal of our garden is to help educate our children and their families in understanding how their food is grown and how they can use it to learn healthy ways to use it. We want to expose them to new varieties of foods and to appreciate the need for eating healthy and making good choices.
We know that children learn by doing and take pride in their accomplishments. We want them to be able to share their new learning and experience with their parents to help promote a home value for good nutrition and trying new things. The end goal is to help decrease the unhealthy eating habits which have been so prevalent in our families.
We will create expert groups to learn about each category of vegetable, herb, or flower we grow on our campus. they will share with other classes and their parents.
