Urban Farm School
Urban Farm School is for folks who are ready to walk their talk, grow their food, and learn how to be food independent in our cities.
The Urban Farm School is a comprehensive 716-hour program for students who want to learn the in’s and out’s of growing resilient food systems in urban environments and beyond. The UFS will accept 25 students for the full season who will work with a team of instructors to run farming operations, gain Permaculture certification, work with experienced practitioners, network with community leaders and entrepreneurs, and connect the dots on farming in the urban landscape. The curriculum will include a fullrange of topics and techniques (see below), permaculture design, entrepreneurship and leadership development, documentation skills, and more. Field trips, activities and workshops will be hosted at sites around the Asheville area.
