About the Program:

To connect our children with the world of nature and increase conscientiousness of ecology is a main goal of our garden. Our hope is that our school gardens gives young people an opportunity to better understand their relationship with nature thus creating a dynamic environment for learning core subjects while promoting cooperation through group activities. The children will be taught to conserve natural resources and preserve the environment. A garden often encourages self-confidence and a sense of responsibility and belonging to one's community. We value service learning, environmental stewardship and nutrition. These programs help empower and educate families and youth to live healthy lifestyles.

This grant will make it possible for Stone Bridge School to build a secure garden shed to house all our tools and supplies and give seed money for starting a junior beekeeping program.
