About the Program:

Through participation in a community garden program, we hope to achieve the following: 1)Teach our children where food comes from, the work it requires and how to grow things themselves. 2) To provide fresh, nutritious foods to our children, their families and our community. 3) To inspire others in our community to start their own foods gardens either individually or as a community.
This garden will allow us to give out fresh foods in our food pantry. It will add to the meals we cook for the poor and homeless in our community and our meals on wheels recipients. Our students will be able to watch their food grow from small plants, to their tables during cooking classes and at home. It will also help to reinforce the things our student have learned from other programs we offer, including Organ Wise Guys.
