St. Patrick School

We are a team of two teachers/parents who have been working with a small group of middle school students, known as the Green Team, for the last 3 years.  St. Patrick School is located in Rodeo, California, approximately 20 minutes from Berkeley.  We meet with our team a few times per month working on projects in our garden, cooking with what we grow, and working on skits and activities to educate our school on what we can do to preserve God's beautiful earth.  In the last few years our team has instituted new policies at our school, such as only allowing students and staff to bring reusable water bottles and reusable cutlery to school.  Our team works to inform students on the everchanging policies of what's recyclable and what's not.  It's a small step but we're very proud that we've encouraged our entire school to move away from plastic cutlery.  We've saved hundreds of dollars for our school and thousands of forks, knives, and spoons from entering the landfill. We are eager to learn more about the Edible Garden and perhaps put some of your techniques in to place at our school.
