The goal of the school's garden is to provide a space for education both to supplement existing courses as well as facilitate the creation of additional opportunities for students and their families. Initially the garden will supplement science courses providing additional avenues of study. An after school garden club will be established to give students an opportunity to interact with the garden more intensively. This will enable students to pursue personal projects while learning alongside others. Both of these goals will work to fulfill an additional goal of making the garden self-sustaining by offering some produce and transplants up for sale to raise money for the garden. Finally, a longer term goal is for the site to be used for formal education (i.e. college credit, etc.) in agriculture, particularly urban agriculture.
