About the Program:

The primary goal of our garden is to promote and support healthy and sustainable lifestyles in our community and school by teaching students and families how to grow and prepare healthy food. More specifically, our goals for the next two years are that: 1. Every student has regular access to the garden 2. Students get to EAT the produce! 3. The garden program is set up to be successful and sustainable.

Our program has access to a classroom where we are able to store teaching and cooking supplies, but are currently using a small janitorial closet for the few borrowed tools that we have. Most tools are hauled from other sites when needed. We also have to bring in outside equipment every time we want to do a cooking demonstration or tasting. This grant will fund a shed with garden tools and basic kitchen equipment to keep on site that will ensure the sustainability of our program.
