This grant will help make possible the following specific goals:
Expansion of our current garden to:
- accommodate full classroom visits to the garden
- provide each classroom in our school (Pre-K-6th) and our after-school program their own garden space to design and pursue their own grade specific learning opportunities
- provide accessible garden beds to: facilitate development of a garden buddies program linking elders and kids; and make garden maintenance easier for families volunteering over the summer
- provide adequate growing space with good quality soil/compost and fencing to provide fresh food our school kitchen and to donate to our local food shelf
