About the Program:

The goal for the Gardens at Rocky Mountain High School is to provide students with a hands on work opportunity in Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Career Cluster.
Students enrolled in the Alternative Cooperative Education Program or (ACE) are involved in 5 on site businesses. These are businesses in which they are given hands on learning opportunities to discover their strengths and skills. The Garden allows students to experience the Agricultural field, and to learn transferable job skills that will allow them to be successful following graduation. Students who participate in the program are at risk for dropping out of high school or receive special education services. Our mission is to provide students with a hands on learning opportunity in each of the Career Cluster areas. Our garden has allowed students to have an amazing learning opportunity, not only a love of gardening but also the chance to imbed many academic subjects, including math and science. This opportunity also allows students to understand how to start and run a small business and how to develop the characteristics of an entrepreneur.
