About the Program:
Our school garden is nicknamed, The End Zone Garden, because it is located next to the high school's football field. This high visability location has encouraged community participation and this summer we will be working with local Girl Scout Troops, parents and teachers to mantain the garden. The produce is used within the school cafeteria and our students and teachers use the garden as a learning lab in Science, Math, English, Art, Foods and Nutrition, World Languages and Special Education. We grow over 20 different varieties of veggies, herbs and flowers but the jalepenos are the favorite amongst the students. Kale chips and jalepeno topped pizza go fast in our school cafeteria.
