Oak Grove Montessori School

The Oak Grove Montessori School Greenhouse and Community Service Project has been born our of a desire to connect the amazing community service work that the students do here with our greenhouse. The goals of our garden is to teach and learn the science of gardening and growing. Our garden and our greenhouse are referred to as the "outside classroom." We then are connecting our community service efforts to the harvest. The grant will allow us to keep up with the equipment and materials we need to continue to grow this amazing garden and community service program. This school has been the recipient of the Connecticut Green Circle Award for two years in a row. As a member of the Commissioner's Green Circle Award, we have been formally recognized fir our positive contributions to the environment through education, active programming and our community service projects that promote the smart and sound use of our natural resources. This grant will help us to continue this incredible work.
