About the Program:

Nuestro Jardin, (Our Garden) was built in 2007 - 2008 using funds from many years of paper recycling plus generous donations from many businesses in Dripping Springs, Texas.  It was built with countless hours of volunteer help by parents, staff, and students.

It consists of 14 raised beds (including an African Keyhole Garden) with crushed granite paths and benches for relaxing.  We have a 600 gallon rainwater catchment system off of the school roof. Two large composters accept fruit and vegetable scraps from our school cafeteria and turn them quickly into rich compost. We have a solar fountain that flows when the sun shines.

We grow a large variety of vegetables and many of the fruits that can withstand our hot summers.  Our winter gardens offer many vegetables all through our mild winter.
