New River Middle School

We would like to start a garden to use in our cooking club at New River. The club raises funds to purchase fresh produce to cook with. The garden will be used to help the students learn about where their food comes from and the freshly grown vegetables will enhance their menus and recipes.

We are a marine science magnet school, so we are interested in cultivating a hydroponic garden. This is our interest because we are introducing the students a unit (lesson) about how these gardens could be used on ships and boats for more healthy options for sailors out at sea for long periods of time.
