Nanaimo Innovation Academy's mission is to provide children and families with high-quality educational and daycare programming that is unique, collaborative, and creative.

Since 2018, our daycare has cared for children ages 12 months to 5 years in Nanaimo's downtown corridor. We offer an innovation program that utilize the best practices from various educational philosophies-- Waldorf, Montessori, Reggio, Whole Child Education, Play-Based Learning-- without being limited by the rigidity of ascribing to just one philosophy. By being flexible and in constant evaluation of what is best for child development, we can create a program designed for our students’ current needs, interests, and growth.

We know that there is no better preparation for play and learning than a good meal and snacks. Nanaimo Innovation Academy believes strongly that offering children healthy, fresh, seasonal and home-made meals and snacks help to lay the foundation for a happy and healthy day. Two light snacks (morning and afternoon) and lunch are provided eat day to nourish your child’s growing body and brain.

Eating foods together is an opportunity for education about nutrition and wellness, nature, personal growth, food economy, and culture.
