About the Program:

We have a greenhouse that is surrounded by a fenced in outdoor classroom space that is in the process of being built with funds provided by the Whole Kids Foundation.  Volunteers and staff bring small groups of students to the greenhouse to care for the gardens and learn about the importance of taking care of our soil and water resources. Students sample harvested plants and are involved in cooking projects to introduce them to the delicious and healthful benefits of locally grown, organic produce.  We have plans to offer a day camp program this summer combining yoga and gardening / sustainability activities.  Partnering with a local non-profit, the Evergreen Alliance for Sustainability (EAS+Y), this camp will raise funds for EAS+Y in exchange for providing volunteer experts who will work with the students.
