Montessori Hale O Keiki (MHOK) School Garden program aims to:

Teach children about organic gardening and the farm to table concept.
Provide hands-on relevant garden experiences for each student that instill a love of learning about the earth and it’s bounty.
Align the Garden program activities with our existing Marine and Environmental Stewardship curriculum.
Instill the values of cultural and environmental stewardship, with hands-on, student-centered research and critical skill development needed for success in 21st century careers.
Grant funding from the Whole Kids Foundation will support in the direct delivery of our garden’s goals. MHOK relies exclusively on private funding to accomplish programmatic goals, as tuition revenue does not fully cover the cost to educate each child. Acquiring funding for the garden program will allow the school to have a dedicated staff member to implement the program and purchase supplies to sustain the activities.
